Kreation Records Responds to Warning “Watching From a Distance” Reissue Statements
November 26, 2012 - “We at Kreation Records would like to clear up some of the details about the controversy surrounding our license of the excellent “Watching From a Distance” album by Warning for vinyl reissue. Here are the facts. Cyclone Empire recently reissued the CD and we have worked together before so I asked them about licensing it for vinyl here in the U.S. They told me to contact Miskatonic Foundation, which originally released the “Watching From a Distance” LP. Miskatonic agreed to license it to us. In a situation such as this, it is the responsibility of the music licenser to communicate with the artist to work out the financial and creative details. In some cases the artist can become involved with the licensee, but that is at the discretion of the owner of the music. We were given the art to use by Miskatonic with instructions to change it around slightly, which we did. The layout and packaging came out fine and doesn’t differ significantly from the CD layout. It was not until after the records were pressed that I learned that Miskatonic Foundation did not involve the band whatsoever in this licensing, financially or creatively. I am shocked that Miskatonic went forward with this project without contacting the band. Making this deal without Warning’s permission was at best disrespectful, and at worst deliberately conniving. I paid a very large sum of money to license this awesome album expecting that some of it would make it to the band.
I have offered vocalist/guitarist Patrick Walker additional money from my end to help make up for this and he declined. We had a conversation over the phone and everything was made clear to him about how this all came about.
Our intention was to put out a wonderful piece of music that has been nearly impossible to get on vinyl for years. Kreation Records and the band were both misled by this other party. On top of that, we at Kreation are deeply saddened that Patrick is not happy about the design.
We apologize for all the issues, inconveniences and heartburn this has caused. Our utmost goal is to put out great products for YOU, the fans of brilliant, heavy music.
Thanks to all for the continued support over the years. We are just a couple of guys working our asses off to spread first-rate music all over the world.”

Catharsis Year-End Roundup & Label News!
Hey y’all, It’s that time of year again. Everyone is feverishly wrestling with their Best of 2012 lists (I’ve turned in three already!) and it’s damn near impossible to remember everything you enjoyed over the past twelve months, so I wanted to send out a little reminder about all the killer releases we had a hand in promoting this year. Hopefully you’ll see fit to add some of them to your personal lists; after all, Decibel already added two of them to theirs! Panopticon and Author & Punisher graced the magazine’s yearly Top 40 list. Legendary crust punks HELLBASTARD have teamed up with profane Midwestern metalpunx DRESDEN to commit a few more sins to wax. The inaugural release for brand-new record label, Unleash Hell Records (helmed by Bitty ofWARTORN and DRESDEN) will be entombed in 12” wax, and be limited to 100 copies on split black & blue vinyl available through http://www.ildistro.com/. The release will include a digital download card, and officially drops onNovember 13, 2012.
HELLBASTARD are one of the most important and influential punk rock bands to ever emerge from England’s blighted shores, coining the term “crust punk” and raising hell from sea to shining sea since the Eighties. Their metallicized, politicized punk anthems and accusations have been throwing up two fingers to the system since day one, and Scuff & the boys show no signs of stopping. Their side of the split features three brand-new songs, as virulent, fast, and ugly as their fans and enemies have come to expect, and was recorded at Pitchfork Rebellion Studios by Laine-Pearce-Rees, with mixing/mastering handled by Ajeet Gill at Hellfire Studios.
Hellraisers and beer-drinkers, take note - the godfathers have returned!

Witnessing Unconscious Collective live is a voyeuristic act of ritualistic transmogrification, one that transcends the interpersonal though unwavering cries of sacrifice and rebirth, demanding a deeper spirituality and self-awareness. In an arrangement of improvisations and musical compositions, this debut release embodies a parallelled aurora with an ensemble of seven alluring ceremonial jazz-rock hymns. All come from different musical backgrounds (classical training, punk/rock, experimental, and jazz), but they function as a musical unit: throwing sounds around, intuitively putting it all in the right place. Past performances/recording sessions have included guests such as Alvin Fielder, Rodrigo Amado, Carl Smith, Leena Conquest, Omar Alvarado, Chris Parker, and Dennis Gonzalez.
All pre-orders will receive a free DVD of the group including exclusive interviews, artist profiles, and performance footage (check out short teaser for the DVD here: http://vimeo.com/42906862).

Irish Sludge Fiends ON PAIN OF DEATH Announce Digital Release of ‘Year Naught Doom’ via Handshake Inc.
Handshake Inc. is pleased to announce the digital release of Year Naught Doom, the debut LP from Irish death doom derelicts ON PAIN OF DEATH. Mastered by James Plotkin and recorded in 2010 in the band’s native Ireland, Year Naught Doom will be released as free download in Autumn 2012 and followed by a vinyl release before the end of the year.
Formed in the boggiest of the boggy depths of Ireland in March ‘08, ON PAIN OF DEATH worship slow, twisted doom/sludge/chaos. The band played their first gig in June ‘08 and recorded their self-titled first demo over that same weekend and the next in Oaks Recording, Enniskillen, Northern Ireland. Their next releases quickly followed: an EP featuring one slab of degrading filth called “Rotting in a Tomb of Depravity,” and a Sepultura cover for Blinddate Records’ popular Clone series (which appeared alongside tracks from Thou, Loss, Moloch, and more). Year Naught Doom offers three tracks’ worth of absolute decay, bottomed-put sludge, and creeping death’s curse. The band’s filthy approach to sluggish, wretchedly miserable, drugged-out death/doom dirge is one of the ugliest things you’ll hear all year, and we’ll bet you a bindle of china white that you’ll love every minute of it.
Metal Ireland lauded Year Naught Doom: “Slower, uglier and with a tighter rein on the grooves, this three tracker is a short and nasty hunk of doom.
The Doom / Death aspect has been amplified here but there is still a lingering hallucinatory hangover buried under the dying riff-work. Rather than washing the whole thing out in swirling effects, they are used more sparsely to add a near-subliminal sense of dread and paranoia. It still grooves, it’s just that there is a disjointed aspect to the flow, as if each riff was assembled and subsequently had its limbs pulled from their sockets. The compositions’ stop/start approach offers space for the vocals to bubble up, and it’s those vocals that are the band’s trump card. Nasty layers of gargled vileness, they drag the whole thing down into an Autopsy swamp. Wet and slimy snarls, possessed lung-sucking howls and belched bottomless-well growls weave their sticky, malignant magic through every song.” ON PAIN OF DEATH have also just released a music video for “Tell Your God to Ready for Blood,” created by Handshake Inc.’s David Hall (Maryland Death Fest The Movie, Disgorge Mexico, documentaries on Brutal Truth and Jucifer). RAMESSES Announce ‘Possessed by the Rise of Magick’ Special Remix 2XLP (+ Additional EYEHATEGOD Tourdates)
UK doom tyrants RAMESSES are busy as ever doing the Devil’s work. Hot on the heels of 2011’s double shot of releases, the bludgeoning trio have just released a special vinyl edition of their last full-length, Possessed by the Rise of Magik. This updated limited edition features the original songs remixed and subjected to a righteous mangling by the one and only Justin Broadrick (Godflesh/Jesu/Greymachine/Final/JK Flesh). Order your copy here (they’re going fast, so don’t hesitate!): http://www.ritualproductions.net/rite012/ Broadrick commented, “It was with great pleasure that I mixed the Ramesses album, they’re my favourite dooooom band; not afraid to take chances, and not afraid to let the dope do the talking…psychedelic warlords.” His remixing efforts serve to enhance the audio with his uniquely dark and affecting musical perspective whilst maintaining the true essence of the original recordings - the way remixes should be. All in all, this double LP is drenched in mystery, malaise, and above all, supremely magickal. Possessed by the Rise of Magik has been released as a deluxe red foiled gatefold, with full colour inner sleeves. Limited to 1000, the 180 gram vinyl album is available in either coal black (800) or clear blood red (200). RAMESES are also pleased to announce a string of upcoming live actions with NOLA’s ugliest, EYEHATEGOD. The twain shall meet for a series of UK dates (accompanied by young drug gunners DOPEFIGHT) beginning in Bristol on August the 7th and running through Manchester and London. RAMESSES will also be playing a few headlining dates along the way. After that, their next ritual is planned to occur on September 14th at Tilburg’s prestigious Incubate Festival, where they will perform alongside such diverse luminaries as NURSE WITH WOUND, FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM, CONAN, STINKING LIZAVETA, and many, many more. Sci-Fi Thrash Demons VEKTOR Announce Massive US Tour
Sci-fi thrash overlords VEKTOR have announced dates for a North American campaign later this summer. Formed in 2002 and currently based in Philadelphia, PA after packing up and heading east from their Phoenix, AZ hometown, this young but deadly quartet have already received heaps of praise and admiration for their head-spinning, technically-demanding, space-age thrash metal assault. Their insanely unique mega-thrash compositions portray the future as a bleak, barren wasteland that has been destroyed by greed, power, corruption, hate, violence, ignorance, and control - a questioning of existence, reality, minds, and souls. The future is black.
After self-releasing the Demolition demo in 2006 and Hunger For Violence the next year, as well as a slew of regional performances (often alongside the likes of TESTAMENT, HIRAX, ICED EARTH, and MUNICIPAL WASTE), VEKTOR unleashed their debut LP, Black Future, and hit the road with Heavy Artillery labelmates EXMORTUS. 2011 saw their return to wax - and to the open road- as the critically acclaimed Outer Isolation record dropped like a neutron bomb. As NPR noted, “VEKTOR finds a way to embrace the past while also carving out an original niche: The young Arizona band combines thrash with elements of black metal and progressive rock. The resulting blend is fast, detailed, incredibly melodic and unexpectedly inventive…The band’s music never comes across as difficult, but it maintains a high level of skill throughout. That’s not an easy card to play, but it’s one of many challenges VEKTOR conquers on its way to updating the thrash-metal blueprint.”
Metal Review raved, “The amount of strengths fighting for the Outer Isolation spotlight are actually a bit staggering when sponged up entirely in one sitting! This band’s speedy execution is ridiculously precise — stormily accurate jackhammer drumming bounces off the reactor walls alongside perfectly matched nuclear riffing with explosive results…Vektor is much more than a new band simply paying homage to legends past; these guys have taken what can be learned from the originators and are using it to blaze a new path, and Outer Isolation is bulldozing the trail, while Sputnik Music decreed that their most recent release “is a more-than-worthy addition to Vektor’s impressive catalogue, and cements the band’s place at the forefront of the thrash revival.”
VEKTOR are coming. To resist is to be destroyed!
